New York, January 30, 2020 –Sutton Place Strategies (SPS) sponsored a webinar titled, Sourcing Strategies for ‘Best in Class’ Originators, moderated by David Toll of Private Equity Career Week.  CEO of SPS, Nadim Malik, spoke at the webinar joined by three firms who had achieved the “SPS Best-in-Class Deal Originator” designation in their respective peer groups in 2019 to discuss how top originators use advanced technology, social media, and fresh marketing techniques to see more of the relevant deals in their target markets.

Malik went through the who, what, when, where, and why of SPS’ deal sourcing playbook.  This includes who sponsors buy from, what industries are most active, where intermediary professionals are located, when deals close, and why using data and technology is critical to optimize deal sourcing.  Malik highlighted how firms can cater their investment strategy to the league tables that are relevant to their firm’s specific investment criteria.  New best practice techniques such as a competitor analysis, sponsor sourcing and portfolio status tracking, utilizing the SPS mobile app and SPS alerts, and conference evaluations can help generate novel and creative methods of effective deal sourcing.
